With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Carol Jacqueline Smith Kerr, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Born on October 9, 1939, she left this world on October 3, 2024, at the age of 84. Carol retired after many years of service as the Secretary/Bookkeeper of Morse Avenue Elementary School, Westside Skills Center, and Cedar Hills Elementary, where her warm spirit and dedication made a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Carol, a faithful Westside Family Worship Center member, devoted her life to her family, church, and community. Her favorite pastimes included traveling in their RV with her husband of 59 years, raking leaves in the yard, crocheting, and creating beautiful crafts. However, she cherished most of the time spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Carol is remembered for her unwavering devotion to her husband and children, her dedication to her church, and her genuinely pleasant personality that brightened the days of those around her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Celeta Frances Bartholf Smith; her father, Rev. Claude Wilbur Smith; and her husband, Andrew Jackson Kerr.
She is survived by her loving children: Celeta (Mike) McClamma, Earl (Lori) Kerr, Thelma (David) Bartmess, and Wilbur (Pam) Kerr. Carol was also the proud grandmother of seven, a role she cherished deeply: Steven Kerr, Shelly Kerr, Joshua Garrett, Michael Bartmess, Chris Bartmess, Tiffany Kerr, and Emily McClamma, as well as seven great-grandchildren: Savannah, Andrew, Ryder, Wyatt, River, Owen and Oakland.
A graveside service officiated by Pastor Jim Wilder will be held on October 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Haven Hospice, 741 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32065-5702, or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
Carol will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her love, kindness, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of all who knew her.

Sorry for the loss of one of the sweetest and most loving person I've been blessed to call my Aunt Carol. She was so kind and always made me feel special every time we had a family event she was there to support us. Praying for the family for healing and just know she's in our heart forever. Just remember all the wonderful memories she left us with her positive & loving spirit.
