Carol A. Sweger,73, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She was born July 7, 1951 in Altoona, the daughter of the Kathleen (Mongan) and Ellis Patterson.
She graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1969 and was a member of the Chambersburg Bible Church. In 1971, while working at Iceland Seafood Corporation she met, and then married, her late husband, Barry Sweger. She also worked at Stanley Company, Menno Haven and then Franklin County Nursing Home.
She enjoyed spending time with family, children and cats, especially her grandchildren. Carol was a very kind, compassionate and selfless person with a very strong faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Sweger and two sons, Michael and Stephen Sweger, four grandchildren: Justin (Sarah) Peterman, Nathan Peterman, Kaitlyn Sweger and Livia Funk, a sister, Terri Jo (Christopher) McLucas and a brother, David Patterson. She is also survived by her loving in laws and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Barnett.
A memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Sellers Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Brown officiating. There will be a visitation from 10-11 am prior to the service.
