Carol Joyce "Carrie" Townsend
Born March 14,1940 to Loren & Lillian Bergeron. Carrie grew up in Bedford, OH. where she was involved in Girl Scouts, school activities, sports and cheerleading. Carrie was married to Dean Townsend for 26 years. They had three children, Shawn Townsend (passed away at 52), Tami Bucks (Jim) and Mark Townsend. Carrie stayed busy raising their kids. She enjoyed sewing and decorating her home. She was very involved with Girl Scouts as a leader and writing the newsletter. Also, she volunteered at Nordonia Schools testing students for Amblyopia. For the last 40 years Carrie lived in Twinsburg, OH. She worked for Record Publishing for many years, doing classifieds, writing the "Police Blotter" and the "Our Town" column.
Known as Grandma Carrie to, Grandsons: Jimi Bucks (Amber), Brandon Bucks (Veronica) and Tyler Bucks. Granddaughters: Heather Balis (Aaron), Nicole Townsend, and Liz Townsend. She was further blessed to have 10 Great-grandchildren! Most of all, Carrie loved spending time with her large family.
On April 13, 2024 she peacefully passed away. May Carrie rest in peace with our Lord and Savior. She will be greatly missed!
A Graveside Service will be held 1PM Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at All Saints Cemetery, 480 W. Highland Rd, Northfield, OH. (Everyone please meet at the cemetery entrance no later than 12:45PM.)
