Dear Gilsons,
Can't thank you enough for calling me... I am so sorry for YOUR loss, and mine. Carolyn has been my best friend since my first visit to Michigan at brother Marlin's. She came to the door and said- "want a popsicle?"
We became immediate friends-your mom and dad were so great to me- I even went to school there part of one year- got to watch Louie and Leroy play ball- got into church youth group- a little dating- and your Mom and Dad even took us to Toledo- movies with concerts ahead! Quite great experiences!
Then came marriages- and our families visits so memorable! We learned all about black Angus- Prell shampoo-no sun- no fence rubbing! Champions!
We all played football and you were quite surprised to find out that the Minnesota Mom could kick quite well! David loved being with the boys and you were great to him. All our kids found out from your mom that oatmeal cookies are breakfast food! Hank always looked forward to her pies. We of course- Gopher fans- but Michigan State still on top of our list. We need a goose!
Hope Carolyn's death was not a lengthy ordeal for her and you. Loss of her and Hank- life changing for me. Hank had a stroke- in and out of awareness for 8 days. Family has been so great & FAITH carries us. He and Carolyn are taking care of each other & us! Our love and prayers to all. LaVonne Reedy

My Deepest Stmpathy for the Family! I enjoyed many years visiting with Carolyn about our families when she would come in to get her hair styled! We had some wonderful conversations thru the years! Thoughts & Prayers for Bob & Family. Sincerely, Cris Lowe

This is Andrea Reedy Schlumpberger in Minnesota. Carolyn was my mom's best friend from her childhood and all through her life. Carolyn and Bob are my godparents and I have kept in contact with them for many years. My mom asked me to try contacting Carolyn just last week because my Dad, Hank, was in the hospital. Now he has gone to be with his Savior, just like Carolyn. I have always anticipated and enjoyed Carolyn's calls, letters, and texts, and I will miss her very much. Love and prayers to Bob and the rest of the family. If any of her kids could email me with some contact information, my mom and I would appreciate it. [email protected]
Carolyn will be remembered as a great friend and godmother who had a big heart!

I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF THE LOSS OF THIS DEAR SWEET LADY. I WAS ALWAYS EXCITED TO SEE HER AND BOB WHEN THEY BROUGHT THEIR VEHICLES IN FOR SERVICE AT BRONDES FORD LINCOLN. I LOVED BOTH OF THEM SO MUCH. I WAS EVEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GO TO THEIR HOUSE TO PICK UP THEIR LINCOLN AND CAROLYN MADE SURE SHE GAVE ME SOME OF HER DELICIOUS COOKIES. THEY WERE SUCH A WONDERFUL COUPLE SO FULL OF LOVE AND I AM BLESSED TO HAVE KNOWN CAROLYN AND BOB. ALSO THEIR WONDERFUL SON KEN IS A TRUE EXAMPLE OF HIS HIS MOM AND DAD'S LOVE AND KINDNESS. HEAVEN HAS GAINED A TRUE ANGEL. SENDING MY LOVE AND PRAYERS TO ALL OF THE FAMILY AT THIS MOST DIFFICULT TIME.

I will always remember her friendly cheerful smile when I saw her & Bob. We shared many hours of work and fun during our years on the Fair Board. A wonderful couple Bob & Carolyn; they were a great team. I´m sorry for your loss and that we won´t be able to attend the memorial celebration.
