Obituary of Catherine H Tambussi
Catherine H. "Kate" Tambussi (nee Ronca) formerly of Cherry Hill passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024 at 88 years of age. Beloved wife of the late William C. "Bill", devoted mother of William M. (Barbara), Lawrence J. (Traci), Donna and Mark D. (Sarah); loving nonna of Julie (Nate Pieprzyk), William M., Caitlin Winton (Michael) and John "Mac" Tambussi; Shane and Paige Tambussi, Jennie and Emalie Stanilla, and Madeline, David (Julianne) and Stephen Tambussi, and great grandmother of Michael and William Winton.
She was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey as one of seven children of Lorenzo and Jennie Ronca, Italian immigrants who made their home in North Camden. She is predeceased by her brothers Silvio, Lawrence, Albert and sisters Alma Zwick and Vilma Horcher. She is survived by her sister, Anna Wawrzyniak, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends who all greatly benefited from Kate's Italian cooking (think Sunday night dinners and homemade pizza), maternal instincts and hospitality.
Kate was long employed as a teachers' aide and in administrative support at Camden Catholic High School and also served for years as a world tour chaperone for the world-renowned Ballet des Jeunes. Most of all, Kate was a great mother, nonna and great grandmother.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Monday from 10:00 to 11:15 AM at the Church of Christ Our Light (formerly St. Peter Celestine), 402 Kings Highway North in Cherry Hill, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at the Church. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum in Cherry Hill.
