Cathy Lynn Sexton, age 63, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. She was born February 15, 1962, in Quincy, Illinois, to Ronald and Juanita (Harden) Monroe.
Cathy lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the people around her. She held many roles throughout her life, from bartender and food delivery driver to family caretaker, but her true calling was caring for others.
Known for her warm heart and her home-cooked meals, Cathy had a way of making everyone feel loved and welcome. She enjoyed the excitement of football season and never missed a chance to cheer for her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Above all, Cathy cherished time with her family and found joy in their laughter and togetherness. She was a believer whose faith brought her comfort and strength throughout her life.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Juanita Monroe.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Sexton of Weatherford, Texas; her children, Jamie Sparrow (Tari), Cole Eugene Sparrow (Megan Renee), Kaylie Sparrow, Ashley Lynn Moore (Morgan), and Kodi Crom; eight cherished grandchildren, Aleigha Jade Sparrow, Lee James Sparrow, Anna Daniel, Caleb, Nathan Sparrow, Parker Moore, Sawyer Moore, and Rowan Moore; her brothers, Jeff Monroe, Randy Monroe, and James Monroe; sisters-in-law, Gena Swan Monroe and Wanda Monroe; as well as several nieces, nephews, and a large extended family who will miss her dearly.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
