Charlene Cothron, 77, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.
Born on November 28, 1947, in Metairie, Louisiana, Charlene was the daughter of Charles Louis Antonini and Mary Frances Young Antonini. She spent many years in Crosby, Texas, before making her home in Sabine County for the past 42 years.
A dedicated entrepreneur, Charlene worked in real estate and other business ventures. She had a deep love for animals-especially horses and dogs-and found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
Charlene is survived by her husband of 42 years, Randy Cothron of Hemphill; sons, Shawn Curry and wife, Cristy, of Barbers Hill, Shane Curry of Crosby, and Randy Cothron, Jr. and wife, Jenny, of Crosby; daughter, Rhonda Hutto of Cold Springs; stepfather, John Quintanilla; sister, Tina Emfinger of Highlands; brother-in-law, Mike Huckman and wife, Carolyn; grandchildren, Amber Hensarling, Valaree Provazek and husband, Wesley, Denton Curry and wife, Shanna, Heather Curry, Hunter Curry and wife, Emery, Cody Currie, Gracelynn Curry, Partner Curry, Braelynn Curry, Lily Cothron, Kira Cothron, Bailey McDonald and husband, Hunter, Kyleigh Curry, and Khloe Curry; and great-grandchildren Calvin, Preston, Jaxon, Dillon, Tate, Shepherd and Ezra.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Denise Huckman; brother-in-law, Lannie Emfinger and niece, Stacey Emfinger Cream.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill, Texas.
Visitation began at 12:00 p.m., prior to the service.
Burial followed at Harper Chapel Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
