Charles M. “Chuck” Dunne, 74, a longtime resident of Easton, died peacefully at Accent Care Inpatient Hospice Center in Milton on Saturday, May 17, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of William J. McAuley for 35 years. Son of the late Robert and Mary (Burke) Dunne, he was born in Newton and raised in Sudbury. Chuck was a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury High School, Class of 1969. He then joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal. He resided in Boston for 10 years before moving to Easton 35 years ago. Chuck was an executive with Verizon, working for over 30 years with the company before retiring in 1996. He then served as a consultant for Verizon for several years until fully retiring 7 years ago. He loved gardening and traveling, recently going on a trip to Disney World with his husband Bill and his niece Caitlin and her family. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his husband, Chuck was the brother of Michael and Dava Dunne of California, Nora Hammar of Stow and the late Marybeth Lewis. Bother-in-law to Patti and Biff Raymond of Florida, Catherine Doherty and the late Patrick Doherty of Stoughton, Walter and Denise McAuley of Stoughton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, May 22 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Prayers will be offered from the funeral home on Friday, May 23 at 11:30 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck‘s memory may be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37939, Boone, IA 50037-0839 (www.redcross.org).
