Charles Clifton Shealy, 95, of Prosperity, widower of Sara Nell Shealy, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
Born on March 18, 1929, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Charlie Coker and Arie Amick Shealy. Mr. Shealy served in the United States Air Force from 1951 – 1983. He retired as a Master Sergeant.
He worked for many years for Coburg Dairy and later in life worked for Wometco Vending.
Mr. Shealy was a member of Cross Point Church of Prosperity and previously was a member for many years at New Life Baptist Church of Greenwood. He was a founding member of New Life Baptist and a deacon for many years. He was a Mason and Hejaz Shriner.
He is survived by daughters, Brenda K. McCall (Randy Bunch) and Janice C. Smith (Gordon Shore) both of Prosperity; grandchildren, Regina Hope Smith Jones (Calvin), Brian Derek McCall (Nicholette), Sara Elizabeth McCall, Angel Kaye McCall, Nathaniel Joseph McCall, Austin Tam McCall, Christian Lang McCall; great-grandchildren, Jackson Rhys McCall, Liberty Elizabeth McCall and Sean Ethan Smith and a great-great-grandson, Kai Sage Lecque.
Mr. Shealy was predeceased by sons-in-law, Larry McCall and Johnny Smith, brothers, Luther Shealy, Dewey Shealy and Edgar Shealy and sisters, Sara Shealy, Eva Boland, Mildred Nobles, Cleo Holley and Estelle Boland; a grandson, Charles Derek Thomas McCall.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 28, 2024, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. Burial with military and masonic rites will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to Cross Point Church, PO Box 1171, Newberry, SC 29108.
Active pallbearers will be Brian McCall, Calvin Jones, Roger Holley, Nathaniel McCall, Regis Clark, Sean Smith and Clifford Shealy.
