CHARLES STATON Obituary
Woody is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Trusty Staton. He was called "dad" by 33 exchange students, "dear uncle" to many, and "friend" to all.
Woody's passion for cars and small engines led him to open and run a small engine repair shop in Cleveland for over 50 years. All who knew him quickly learned of his love for Nancy, antique vehicles, racing, and their exchange students whom they considered their own. During their life together, they had many adventures square dancing, camping, and traveling throughout the United States and Mexico while visiting family and friends.
Woody was a kind, quiet man who loved to laugh and loved the Lord. He and Nancy have belonged to and have actively supported Cleveland First Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by all.
The family wishes to thank all his caregivers over the past few years, but especially Gail Fulmer, Pam Mimbs, Mackenzie Reagan, Katrina Talley and Hospice of NEGA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Truth Seekers Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Cleveland - P.O. Box 250, Cleveland, GA 30528.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Turner, the Rev. Manning Minton, and Dr. Phil Weaver officiated. Interment followed in Gateway Memory Park.

Dear Woody,
Thank you for the countless lessons you taught me through your example-your dedication, patience, and love. You were like a second father to me, as you were to many of us who came to learn English but ended up learning so much more. Your impact goes far beyond words.
I imagine NASCAR is just as exciting in heaven! Please keep an eye on Nancy from above, as we hold you in our prayers down here.
