SFC Charles B. Willard, U.S. Army (Ret.), 60, of Columbia, died on Friday, October 18, 2024. Born on October 8, 1964, in Stuart, Virginia, he was the son of the late Charles Edward Willard and Peggy T Ladd.
Charles was an active member of New Creation Baptist Church. In his spare time enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing golf, poker, and jujitsu training and tournaments.
He is survived by his sister, Kimberly P. Willard of North Carolina and cousins, aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents and sister Michelle Leigh Ladd.
The committal service for SFC Willard will be held at 12 o'clock, Friday, November 15th, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229. Following the committal service, a funeral service will be held at 1:30 o'clock at New Creation Baptist Church, 1834 Morninglo Ln, Columbia, SC 29223. The family will receive friends following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project or any military charity of your choice in memory of SFC Charles B. Willard.
