Mrs. Charolette Wanda Sue Bear Hyden Carlisle, age 90, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on September 19, 1934 in Switzerland County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Calvin J. and Mary Elizabeth Fox Bear. She spent her childhood years in Switzerland County and lived the rest of her life in Jefferson County. Charolette was first united in marriage to Charles Samuel Hyden and this union was blessed with four children, Linda, Donnie, Brenda and Charles. Charolette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. On August 10, 1963 she was united in marriage to Freddie Gorman Carlisle and this union was blessed with a daughter, Norma. This happy union of 59 years blended two families together. She helped her husband and on the farm and with their business C & B Concrete until retiring in 2007. She was of the Christian faith and held membership in the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765 and Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary. Charolette died on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 4:38 p.m. at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Please Click Here to View the Video Tribute.
A LOVING FAMILY
Charolette will be missed by her loving daughter, Brenda Charlene Adams of Madison, Indiana; her loving son, Donald Hyden of Madison, Indiana; her stepsons, William Edward "Eddie" Carlisle of Madison, Indiana, Dwight Eugene "Tex" Carlisle and his wife, Cindy; her stepdaughters, Diane Christine Hamm of Madison, Indiana, Kim Annette Finney of Madison, Indiana; her son-in-law, Kenny Massie of North Vernon, Indiana; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin John Bear, died May 1, 1992, her mother, Mary Elizabeth Fox Bear, died May 20, 1978, her beloved husband of 59 years, Freddie Gorman Carlisle, died December 19, 2022, her stepson, Gorman L. Carlisle, died April 22, 2013, her son, Charles William Hyden, died in 1980, her daughter, Linda Sue Massie, died April 22, 2019, her daughter, Norma Jean Carlisle, died February 26, 2018; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Hyden, died May 18, 2014, her grandsons, Henry Martin Finney, died June 14, 2019, John Lee Hayes, Sr., died December 11, 2022, her granddaughters, Chelsea Breeden, died January 29, 1994, Amanda Hendrix, died December 12, 2017, Brooke Charolette Wanda Sue Walters, died December 9, 2023, her brothers, Lowry Ray Bear, died May 24, 2018 and James J. Bear, died July 16, 2009, her sister, Barbara J. Bear Dunlap, died July 16, 2009.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. by Pastor David Leland at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North U.S. 421 near Madison, Indiana
VISITATION
Friends may visit Monday, October 14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
Memorial contributions may be made to the Charolette Carlisle Remembrance Fund or the Dupont Cemetery Association. Cards are available at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centres of Madison and Hanover.
