The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Chris was born July 24, 1973, in Albany, GA to Harry and Linda Flake, Jr. He graduated from Deerfield-Windsor Academy in Albany, and later received his bachelor's degree from the Brock School of Business at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. While at Samford, he met Lisa and they moved to Springfield following their marriage. Chris spent a lifetime career working in the construction industry, serving as a sales representative for A.E. Finley & Associates and Scott Equipment Company in LaVergne. He was an active member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and served on the Board of Trustees at Davidson Academy, where his children attended school since Pre-K. Chris was an avid sports fan and loved all things outdoors. He especially loved going back to South Georgia to hunt and fish and spend time with his family and friends. Chris' greatest love and devotion was to his family, and he loved supporting his children in any way that he could. Most days and weekends you could find him on a sports field or inside a gymnasium watching their games. Chris was always quick to offer assistance and wanted to make sure everyone felt loved and valued. He will always be remembered for being honest and kind and for always making others laugh with his jokes and quick wit. Chris will be deeply missed and forever loved by all his family.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents: Harry and Bronnie Flake, Sr. of Whigham, GA and Charlie and Louise Bass of Savannah, GA. He is survived by his wife of 27 years: Lisa Johnson Flake of Springfield, by his children: Carson, Connor, and Delaney Flake all of Springfield, and by his parents: Harry and Linda Bass Flake, Jr., of Cordele, GA.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cedar Hill Baptist Church building fund at 112 S. Main St. Cedar Hill, TN 37032, or to Davidson Academy at 1414 Old Hickory Blvd. Nashville, TN 37207.
