Christine Philo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All County Funeral Home & Crematory - Treasure Coast Chapel on Nov. 7, 2024.
Christine Philo, 75, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning November 2, 2024. She was born of old Prussian stock on December 7, 1948 to Alfred Amadeus Kurras and Julia Jodat Kurras. She was born outside of Königsberg, East Prussia and emigrated to the United States when she was 6 years old. A ward of the Mccarn Act she sailed to the US and her new home on the USS United States. After learning how to speak English from watching episodes of Captain Kangaroo she spent her childhood in NYC, California and Pennsylvania.
Christine spent most of her youth in California and attended High School in Malibu, she was in the same class with actress Barbara Hershey! After graduating High School she attended Community College in Reading Pennsylvania, planning to work with children who have autism. As fate would have it however, she met her husband of 56 years Michael Raymond Philo and they married in 1969.
Christine spent many wonderful years in Rochester, NY raising her two children and living life to it's fullest potential! She loved the water, sunsets on Lake Ontario, flowers and trying to catch a tan in the winter time... She had class and a style like no other. Many weekends were spent with family in Fulton, NY just a ways down the road! She also very much enjoyed visiting her brother-in-law Gary Whaley in Washington, DC on long weekends and holidays.
Christine is survived by her husband Michael and her two children, Christopher Michael Philo and Michelle Christine Philo, grandchildren Indiana Smith, Dylan Smith, Landon Philo and Casidy Philo as well as many nieces & nephews in NY and CT. She is also survived by her brother Douglas Kurras.
