The family of Joseph G. Benz (Joey), are heartbroken to announce his sudden and untimely passing, due to a motor vehicle accident on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Joey leaves behind his adoring mother, Jacqueline Komidar (John); adoring father, Joe Benz (Heidi); daughter, Sarah Schuetz (Chris); granddaughter, Zofia; sister, Kathleen Brandy (Bruce); godson and nephew, Nicholas Brandy. Joey was predeceased by his niece, Helene Brandy.
Joey was a dedicated registered master plumber who owned his own business, Pittsburgh Backflow. He enjoyed hunting, karaoke and Pittsburgh sports teams. He was a loving and devoted son to both his mother and father, and a kind and loving person who would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. Joey loved dogs but especially the late Winston, his beloved Boston terrier. Joey was deeply loved by all who knew him. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins whom he adored.
