Cora Yvonne Robertson
July 7, 1956 – April 21, 2025
Cora Yvonne Robertson, 68, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born to the late Lucy Perkins in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Cora lived in the Chickamauga area most of her life and graduated from Gordon Lee Memorial High School. While in high school, she was the captain of the color guard in the marching band and was involved with many clubs. She continued her education at Dalton Junior College and earned an associate's degree in nursing. She worked at Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, specifically on the OB/GYN floor, taking care of new mothers for over twenty years as a registered nurse. She was also employed by Greenleaf in Fort Oglethorpe as a nurse manager for many years. Cora had many passions: reading, working one-thousand-piece jigsaw puzzles, watching hummingbirds, and staying on top of the latest news. Still, her greatest passion was loving the Lord with all her heart. Cora was a very loving, sweet, and kind-hearted person. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Cora is preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Perkins; sister, Dena Logsdon; and brother, Willard Adcox.
She will forever be lovingly remembered by her children, Lucy Ayers of Rome, Georgia, Garry Grimes of Chickamauga, Georgia, and Rebecca Bridges of LaFayette, Georgia; brother, Ron Adcox of Chickamauga, Georgia; many grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family has arranged a time to remember and honor Cora. Friends and family are invited to come as you are and join us on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for visitation. The funeral service, a time to celebrate Cora's life, will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, we will proceed to the Lakewood Memorial Gardens-South, 325 Greens Lake Road, Rossville, Georgia, for the burial. The family appreciates your prayers and support during this difficult time.
