Corinne Hardy Brantley, 93, of Philadelphia, MS, passed away on November 9, 2024, at Neshoba General Nursing Home.
Corinne was born April 16, 1931, and grew up in Philadelphia, MS. She was proud of her accomplishments as a four-year starter for Bloomo High School Women's Basketball where her team accumulated a record of 85 wins, 6 losses. Much of her work ethic arose from her time on this team and her responsibilities on the family farm. Following high school, she married her sweetheart, Barnard Brantley and she began her work career with Neely Reprographics in Jackson and later with Citizens Bank of Philadelphia.
Corinne loved flower gardening, but her talents grew as an artist, craftsperson, church wedding planner, choir member and she enjoyed cooking for church events and families in need. Perhaps her greatest gift was expressed through her love for family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She passed on her work ethic to all her sons and followed them and the grandchildren in whatever activities they chose to pursue. "Mamaw Rinne" was their biggest fan and always excited to hear of their successes.
Corinne is survived by her children Allen (Nelwyn) Brantley, Tim (Renee) Brantley and Steve (Tammy) Brantley; grandchildren Ronnie, Ben, Kyle, Jeff, Kalen and Emily; great grandchildren Bryce, Laura Leigh, Grant, Brayden, Hudson, Caroline, Maggie and Jonathan. She is also survived by siblings: Jane Johnson, Nancy Williams, Narcy Walker, Jerry Hardy (Tommie) and sister-in-law Joyce Hardy. Also, Corinne's adopted best friend, Dot Warren, who worked with her on church events, gave her rides to church and came to visit her so often in her final years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Barnard Brantley in 2007, and her parents Ollie Wilson Hardy and Sadie Smith Hardy; siblings: JC Hardy, Ovette Hardy, Bobby Hardy, Lynda Wood.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Brantley, Ben Brantley, Kyle Brantley, Jeff Brantley, Kalen Brantley, Bryce Brantley, Grant Brantley, Brayden Brantley.
Honorary Pallbearers: Emily Brantley, Laura Leigh Brantley.
