Dale Douglas Britting, born on April 11, 1963, in Carson City, Michigan, passed away on October 12, 2025, in Gaylord, Michigan. A dedicated mechanic throughout his life, Dale's craftsmanship and expertise in his field were well-known to friends and family alike. After graduating from Alma High School in 1981, he pursued further studies at Ferris State University, where he received a degree in Mechanics, laying the foundation for a career that would bring him immense joy and fulfillment.
In 1993, Dale married Becky. Their partnership was a testament to the bond they shared and the life they built together, enriched by love, Together, they raised their family which is their proudest accomplishment. Dales children and grandchildren who were always a source of joy and pride for him.
Beyond his career, Dale had a passion for various hobbies and interests that brought him great delight. He enjoyed building motors, playing golf, and engaging in the adrenaline-fueled world of racing cars. His love for competition extended to friendly pool and dart games with friends, golf where he often thrived alongside his son, Brad, his brother, Jim and nephew, Justin. He was known to say, “stop at nothing” which helped keep his green jacket he was so proud of. These activities reflected not only his competitive spirit but also his commitment to spending quality time and creating memories with loved ones.
Dale's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, remembered as a talented mechanic, a devoted husband and father, and friend. A compassionate soul who embraced life to its fullest. He loved to live wide open but knew when it was time to slow it down and take it all in. He leaves behind a family who will cherish his memory and honor the life lessons he imparted through his love and dedication.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Britting; his son, Bradley (Brittany) Britting; his daughter, Tara (Scott) Spillane; grandsons, Ethan Joel Spillane and Nathan Lyle Douglas Britting; two siblings, Wanda (Jim) Nemier and Jim Britting .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary (Bundesen) Britting; two brothers, Wayne and Nate Britting; sister, Betty Jean Britting and his nephew, Trevor Britting, and his sister-in-law Sue Britting.
A memorial service will take place 2:00 PM Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, where the family will visit with friends beginning at 1:00 PM.
