Dale Lee Smith, widower of Margie K. Smith, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Georgetown, Kentucky. Dale was born on January 27, 1943, in Lexington, Indiana to the late Lowry and Mildred Smith. Dale was a kind and loving father whose hardworking spirit was shaped by his early years growing up on the farm. He had a passion for collecting guns and coins, and he cherished the stories behind each piece. Dale loved his family deeply and always made sure they were cared for. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting, and found joy in life's simple moments. Some of his happiest days were spent alongside his late wife, Margie, wandering through yard sales together and sharing in their love for finding hidden treasures.
Dale will be lovingly remembered by his five sons; Dale (Cindy) Smith, Jr of Alabama, Don (Deb) King of Oklahoma, Joe (Kim) King of Danville, KY, Randy King, and Marshall (Michelle) King of Nicholasville; two daughters, Deana Smith Andrew of Madison, IN, and Donna (Terry) Taylor of Hanover, IN; three sisters, Dorothy Horine, Mary Gorman, Mildred Thomas; five grandchildren, Casey Taylor Shepherd, Kyle Taylor, Crystal Nowles, Jacob Dale Smith, Camille Andrew Norris; and ten great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, Dale was proceeded in his passing by his five brothers: Lowry A. Smith Jr., Arlo Dean Smith, Merlin Walton Smith, Charles Edward Smith, and Robert Earl Smith. He was also proceeded in his passing by his two sisters; Margaret Rose Smith, and Donna Cox and one grandson; Cody R. Andrew.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Carl Kelleher officiating the service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Georgetown Cemetery with Jacob Smith, Kyle Taylor, Jesse Brown, Rowdy Glover, Ray Horine and Brandon Smith serving as pallbearers.
