Daniel Joseph Chartier, 76, of Manistique, Michigan passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, Michigan. Daniel was born September 17, 1947, to his parents Leo and Orla (O'Neil) Chartier. Daniel was a graduate of Manistique High School. Shortly after graduating, he was drafted into the Army where he served for two years.
In 1991 Daniel married the former Carol Jacobs in Manistique. Daniel spent the greater part of his career at the Paper Mill in Manistique retiring after thirty-plus years of service.
Daniel was a member of the American Legion.. He was an easy-going kind of guy who enjoyed taking care of the yard and puttering in his garden. Daniel was fun and good-humored having a wonderful time bowling and dancing to live music at Roy's Place! He loved to dance! He also loved cruising the Caribbean with his wife, Carol.
Daniel is survived by his son, Scott (Jen) Chartier and his three grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother James Chartier, sisters Judy Foubare, Sally (Stan) Woodruff, and Rita Sweeny along with several nieces and nephews.
Daniel is preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Carol, son John, brothers Terry and Merv, and his parents Leo and Orla.
Memorial donations in Daniel's honor can be directed to the family for future designation.
A Memorial Service for Daniel will be held on Friday September 20, 2024, 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery.
