Daniel “Dan” Leroy Hammond, age 71, husband of Wanda Hammond, and a resident of Hohenwald, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at his residence.
Born on February 10, 1953, in South Haven, Michigan, Dan was the son of the late Therald and Marilyn Cutler Hammond. He devoted his career to carpentry and construction, where his hard work and craftsmanship were evident. On October 7, 1988, he married Wanda, and together they built a life filled with love. An avid outdoorsman, Dan found joy in gardening and fishing. He had a deep affection for his pets, Kayce and Lucy, and cherished time spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jenniffer Hunt of Washington, Jacob (Becky) Hammond of Michigan, step children, Jeff Durham of Linden, TN, Lee (Robyn) Durham of Hohenwald, TN, brothers, Therald (Sue) Hammond, Frank (Mia) Hammond, Stephen (Sherry) Hammond, sister, Sherry Volrath, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
