With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel E. Olson, age 63, of Navarre, FL (formally of Arcadia, WI). He was born on February 22, 1961, in La Crosse, WI to Wendell and Shirley (Symiczek) Olson and passed away on October 25, 2024, of a heart attack in Gulf Breeze, FL. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1979. That is where he found his career path. He graduated with a Welding Degree from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology. He worked for Niro Atomizer for several years but then decided he wanted to get his college degree in Business Administration. While attending UW River Falls, he met Libby Walker. Together they had twin daughters – Jessie and Jackie. They later divorced. Dan worked in the business world for a while but knew his true career was in welding. He spent his entire welding career with Niro Atomizer, eventually becoming GEA, and was a site supervisor at the time of his death. His welding took him to all parts of the US and also to Spain several times.

Dan had his first heart attack in 2008 while working in Fargo ND. It was a true miracle he survived. After that he met Noelle, and they later married and eventually settled in Florida. Dan recently decided he was going to retire in February 2025 after his 64th birthday and was really looking forward to retirement and becoming a “beach bum”. Dan was a devote Christian, loved helping others (he would give the shirt of his back to help anyone), visiting with family & friends and took true pride in his work career. He also loved to hunt while living in WI and especially loved spending time at the beach, seashell hunting and fishing. He was on his way to the beach to go boating when he died. Dan loved his twin daughters and he proudly displayed a photo of them in his room wherever his career took him.

Dan was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his mother, Shirley Olson in 2009. He is survived by his wife Noelle in Navarre, FL, daughters Jessie (Mitch) Doerr, Longmont, CO, Jackie (Shane) Duffy, Columbus, WI, father, Wendell Olson (Jan), Eau Claire, WI, brother, Dave (Sandy) Olson, Eau Claire, WI, sister, Kari (Andrew) Rhodes, Las Vegas, NV, nieces, Mandy (Brody) Peterson, Elk Mound, WI, Ashley (Cody) Thalacker, Eau Claire WI, nephew William Rhodes III, Las Vegas, NV, great niece Estelle, great nephews Everett and Quintin, “bonus” daughter, Becca Irby, and most recently his “bonus” grandson, Luke. Dan is also survived by several special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be missed greatly.

Funeral service and burial in Gulf Breeze, FL on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 2:00 CST. Funeral service will be livestreamed - https://www.roselawn-fh.com/obituaries/daniel-olson or you can view after the service as it will be saved.
