Daniel Prothman Obituary

Daniel Raymond Prothman, 71, of Albion, NE passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the his home.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Saving Grace Bible Church in Albion, NE with Pastor Mark McClintick officiating. Interment will follow at the Boone Cemetery, rural Albion, NE. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Levander Funeral Home, Albion, NE.

Daniel Raymond Prothman, the son of Raymond Albert and Clareen Margaret (Nienaber) Prothman was born on July 17, 1953 at Newman Grove, NE. He was baptized at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay and later confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion, NE. Dan attended school at St. Michael's Catholic School and Albion High School and graduated with the class of 1972. He went on to attend college at NCTA in Curtis and earned an Agriculture Degree. Following college Dan worked for Nelson Equipment in St. Edward.
On May 28, 1977 Dan was united in marriage to Jacqueline Sue Frisch at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, NE. Since marriage they have lived on the family farm. In addition to farming, Dan worked at Sullivan Motors, Lindsay Manufacturing, and had a fencing and building moving business with his uncle Ed. He also sold Kent Feed out of Dan's Feed Store, in addition to helping his neighbors farm.
Dan is a member of Saving Grace Bible Church in Albion, NE, Knights of Columbus, FFA Alumni, and started the 4-H shooting sports. In his younger years Dan bowled. He also enjoyed working on tractors and bringing home antique tractors, hunting, farming, and going to farm sales. He was always very active in his grandchildren's lives. At the age of 39 he was diagnosed with Parkison's, which didn't slow him down, he always kept his smile, humble attitude, and continued to live a very fulfilling life with his family.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline; three children: Heather (Scott) Brengelman; Susan (Dan) Staub; and Eric (Victoria) Prothman all of Albion, NE; 13 grandchildren: Michael, Brooke, Virgil, Clara and Henry Brengelman; Grant, Colby, and Abigail Addison; Destiny (fiancé Kade Noble) Umbarger, Ally Staub, Dylan Staub, Gabriel and Locryn Prothman; his mother Clareen Prothman of Albion, NE; brother David (Jane) both of Albion; five sisters: Jane (Mike) Roesler of Malcolm, Lori (Steve) Wagner of Pierce, Carol Kotas of Wilber, Arlene (Scott) Neidhardt of Albion, Nancy (Dale) Gasper of Columbus; brother-in-law Bob (Betty) Anderson of Fremont; many brothers and sisters-law; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Raymond, mother and father-in-law George and Monica Frisch; sisters: Judy and Elaine Prothman and Donna Anderson; and brother-in-law Roger Kotas.
