Hornell, NY
Daniel M. Russell – 70 – of Fairlawn Avenue, Hornell died Friday morning (January 3, 2025) at home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Olean, NY on August 23, 1954, he was the son of the late John & Charlotte (Clark) Russell.
Daniel spent his life in the Southern Tier working at the former Foster Wheeler in Dansville, NY. He later drove truck, heavy equipment, and was an all-around handyman. He was quite the jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed working and keeping busy. Daniel loved spending time with his grandchildren, spoiling them with attention. He will always be remembered for his strong work ethic and his love for family.
He is survived by his children, Danielle (Jason) Niedermaier of Norfolk, NY, David Russell of Hornell, Isiah Fultz of Hornell, Larry Russell of Hume, NY, Kristina McKinsey of Centerville, NY, Sue Robbins of Hume, NY, and Molly (Ben) Carr. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, & nephews.
To honor Daniel's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. A Celebration of Life will take place this summer at a time and location to be announced. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.
