Daniel Smith Obituary

Daniel Smith Jr. was born in Toledo, Ohio at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Hospital on September 1, 1957 to the union of Marie Shoemaker and Daniel Smith Sr.
Daniel graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1976. After high school, he moved to Chicago, Illinois and worked at American Stairs for 10 years.
Daniel completed his journey of life on the morning of September 15th, 2024. Daniel was a extremely huge Cowboy fan as well as a Michigan Wolverine fan. He loved spending time with family and friends as well as being a faithful member to his church. Daniel also loved Barbeque and attending neighborhood block parties where he grew up every summer.
He is preceded in death by his parents Marie Shoemaker and Daniel Smith Sr.
He will be greatly missed by his only son Brandon Copeland, Charlie Smith (Brother) and Annie Smith, Gwendolyn Shoemaker (Sister) and Darnell Sealey, Gary Shoemaker (Brother), Crystal Gordan (Sister), Kimberly Bryson (Sister) and Keith Bryson (Brother).
Grandchildren Brandi Copeland, Aniyah Copeland, Brandon Copeland Jr. and Jacelynn Ballesteros-Copeland.
Extended Family: Angie Hickman and Charde Hickman, Javon Thomas, Jimmie Rankins Jr., Amina and Jaxon Watkins. Life Long Friends:duane Broadnax, Mark "Monk" Buchanan, Miles Anderson and Rodney Marr (deceased), Alford "Big Al" Anderson and a host of nieces and nephews.
We want to thank Kingston Care Center staff for all the love and care they had given him over the years. Brandon would like to give a special thanks to the Physical Therapy Department because without them he never would have the motivation to walk 90 feet.
