Danny Bob Antwine was born on September 13th, 1938 to Robert Herman Antwine and Lily Faye (Bradley) Antwine in Tillman County just outside of Grandfield, OK. Danny grew up in Grandfield and graduated from Grandfield High School in 1956. He went on to graduate from Southeastern University with a degree in mathematics and taught trigonometry briefly at Duncan Public Schools. He married Donna Jean McConnell in February of 1959 and together they had two children, Laurel "Laurie" Hope (Antwine) Sweeting and Robert Bradley Antwine. Danny then went to work as a systems programmer for the information technology group at Halliburton Energy Corporation, retiring as a manager of the information technology group in 1993. While working for Halliburton, he got his airmen's license, and ultimately became a Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII), teaching people how to fly, even teaching some with his two-year-old daughter in his lap.
Danny married his soulmate, Betty Ann (Horner) Graham, in December of 1983 and together they spent their retired life with their grandkids out on their 10 acres. He taught them many things including but not limited to how to swing a golf club, saddle/ride/care for the horses, drive a four-wheeler, drive motorcycles and drive the pickup, drive and operate the tractor, how to safely operate and shoot guns, and much more. In his spare time, he enjoyed caring for and training his horses, trail riding, bird watching, flying RC planes and drones, and playing golf. Later in life, some time after the passing of his wife Betty, Danny married Sarah Etta (Durrett) Tipton and they continued spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his wife Betty Ann (Horner) Antwine, his sisters-in-law Alma Earlene (Landrum) Antwine and Mary Jacquelyn (Russell) Antwine, his stepson Brian Wayne Graham, and his former spouse Donna Jean (McConnell) Antwine. He is survived by his brothers, Lynn Merel Antwine of Dallas and Jimmy Joe Antwine of Moore, his daughter Laurie of Duncan, his son Robert of Kentucky, his stepson Chris Allen Graham and wife Robin (Fergason) Graham of Duncan, his grandchildren: Shelly Ann (Graham) Ballon and husband Shane Frank Ballon, Daniel Joe Carroll and wife Emily Deanna (Westbrook) Carroll of Duncan, Kathryn "Katy" Hope (Carroll) Lang and husband Mason Lang of Duncan, Rachel Elizabeth (Graham) Bryant and husband David William Bryant III of Oklahoma City, Blake Allen Graham and wife Kaylee Marie (Moss) Graham of Oklahoma City, Lynlee Graham of Duncan, and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren with two on the way.
A graveside service is planned for Saturday, September 20, at 10:30 A.M. at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Ariel Whitehorn officiating.
