Danny Carl Tines, age 75, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024. He was born in Morgantown, KY on August 25, 1949 to J.E. "Mug" Tines and Loetta Tines. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Dan, as he was called by those that knew him, enjoyed a childhood exploring the great outdoors in Dunbar with his cousins and childhood friends. After a brief stint at Western Kentucky University where he met his future wife, he began his career in the trucking industry. Dan retired from Roadway Express Trucking as a Terminal Dispatcher. Dan loved to hunt, fish, garden and spend time with his grandchildren. He loved to cook a good meal with sides from his garden, and then dominate his family in a variety of card games. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Reed Tines; two sons, Ben Tines (Crystal), and Patrick Tines (Amanda); two grandchildren Elliot and Nolan Tines; one sister Dorothy Keller; and several Nieces and Nephews.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife General Fund in Memory of Danny Tines. If you would prefer, honor his memory by taking a kid fishing, growing your own tomato plant, or appreciating a quiet moment in nature. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Arrangements are under the care of Smith Funeral Home.
