Darien Elizondo Obituary

Darien Gabriel Elizondo, 26, unexpectedly passed away on Dec. 19, 2024. A lifetime Puebloan, he was born July 22, 1998 to proud parents, Charles and Irma (Cornejo) Elizondo. Preceded in death by his grandfather, John Elizondo.
Darien received his formal education through District 60 and graduated in 2017 from South High School. He excelled in track, football and lacrosse. He recently played for the Colorado Rapids amputee team in Boston. Darien was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons. He worked at Twenty One Steak and Rosario's as a waiter. He enjoyed all genres of music. He loved sports, working out at the gym and watching movies, especially Disney movies. He never sat still, he was always on the go. He was a big history buff, very intelligent and knowledgeable. His friends were his family, celebrating each milestone with each of them. He had a great personality and charisma that was out of this world. You were only a stranger to him once, he could strike up a conversation with anyone and was very welcoming to anyone he came in contact with. Darien was so kind and loving.
Darien is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Irma Elizondo; love of his life, Tobi Martinez; siblings, Chad Elizondo (Tiffany), Charleigh Elizondo, and Alex Romero; grandmother, Genevieve Elizondo; grandparents, Javier and Maria de Loudres Cornejo; godparents, Aunt Judy and Uncle Terry Stice; aunts, Terry Strachan, and Sylvia (Leandro) Flores; and uncle, Javier (Maria de Jesus) Cornejo; several cousins, aunts, uncles, and a wealth of friends that he loved and who will miss him dearly.
Rosary, 5 pm, Thurs., Dec. 26, 2024 and Funeral Mass, 10 am, Fri., Dec. 27, 2024 both at Holy Family Catholic Church.
