Darlene Reatherford Obituary

Violette Darlene Black Reatherford, 70 years of Greendale, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Darlene grew up on a farm in Miamitown riding horses and chasing rabbits. Selfless to a fault, Darlene would sacrifice for the happiness and well-being of others. While she had some health issues over the last several years, she would never complain and certainly didn't want the family to fuss over her. Darlene loved her family more than anything and her universe revolved around them. As a mom, the word "no" was not in her vocabulary and spoiling her grandchildren came naturally to DarDar as they would adoringly call her. She was very loving and very giving, always offering to do for others as much as she could. She enjoyed gambling at Rising Star Casino and worked at Hollywood Casino for about 10 years in the Deli.
Darlene will be deeply missed by her children Jessica (Anthony) Littleton, Jamie Reatherford, and Katie Reatherford; grandchildren Anthony Jr., Yoney, Parker, Bentley, Karina, Damian; great grandson Colt; siblings Ruthie (Gary) Campbell, Dee Wolf, sister-in-law Anita Black; and many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by parents Luke and Ruth Robbins Black; and siblings Teresa Cavanaugh and Luke Black.
There will be a private family celebration of life honoring Darlene.
