The following was lovingly written
by Darrel's family...
Darrel Edward Farrow was born on July 2, 1938;
the sixth (6th) of eleven (11) children
born to Clarence Farrow
and Ollie Edna Sutton Farrow.
Darrel grew up in and around Old Mannford
and graduated from Mannford High School in 1956.
Darrel served in the Army from 1958-1961,
serving three (3) years as a
helicopter maintenance mechanic.
Darrel and Billie Lou Hudson
were married on April 22, 1961.
After the service, Darrel worked with
Smith Brothers Construction
building houses as the town of Mannford moved.
He worked at Southwest Porcelain,
then moved to ABF Trucking and became a
Teamster for eighteen (18) years
before retirement.
In 1966, Darrel and Billie Lou purchased and
renovated the family farm,
where Lou was born, and they still live today.
Darrel has raised two (2) daughters, cattle,
and horses over the last fifty-eight (58) years.
Darrel enjoyed many hours of solving
world problems with locals at the Terlton store.
Darrel enjoyed his annual trips to the
Ben Johnson Steer Roping and the Cavalcade.
He spent many weekends attending estate sales,
as well as breeding, raising and racing horses.
In recent years, Darrel enjoyed tending
to and learning the history of the Terlton Cemetery,
creating a four (4) generation family tradition
of placing flags on Veterans graves.
Darrel was a proud brother; proud husband;
proud father; proud grandfather
and great grandfather;
proud American; and a proud Christian.
