David Bevers passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 2, 2008 at the age of 75. His loving family was at his side. He was born March 8, 1933, son of the late Adrian and Myrtle (LeBouef) Bevers. On November 29, 1952, Dave married the former Nancy Head in Kaukauna; she survives. Dave retired from C.R. Meyer Construction as a Carpentry Superintendant and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 955 for over fifty years. From 1953 until 1955, he served his country as a member of the United States Army, and was a member of the William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion in Kimberly. Dave enjoyed golf, bird watching, bird house building, and working out at Ghost Town Fitness. Most of all, he will be remembered as a dedicated father and grandfather who enjoyed all the kids sporting activities – being home with his family and spending time watching them grow brought him wonderful memories and great joy. His children and grandchildren will agree that these times were indeed the times to remember.

Dave is survived by his wife of fifty-five years: Nancy Bevers of Kimberly and their five children and their families:

Randy Bevers of Kimberly and his children Nate Bevers, Rebecca Bevers, Hannah Bevers, Josh Vander Loop, Matt Vander Loop, Danielle (Dave) Boettner, and Trent Kitzinger;

Robin Vander Zanden of Kimberly and her children April (Matt) Thornton and Travis Vander Zanden and his friend Samantha;

Rhonda (Ben) Kilgas of Kaukauna and their children Jessica (Eric) Schroeder, Jennifer Kilgas and her friend Cory, and Karly Kilgas and her friend Jeremiah;

Rick (Sherry) Bevers of Freedom and their sons Brice Bevers and Jacob Bevers;

Kelly (Steve) Van Asten of Darboy and their daughters Kashena Van Asten and Annalee Van Asten;

There are nine great-grandchildren: Makaida, Brady, Adriana, Blake, Savannah, Devon, Layla, Chloe, and Ethan; seven brothers and sisters: Vivian Skalmusky of Kaukauna, Eunice (Woody) McCabe of Georgia, Jess (Sally) Bevers of Little Chute, Wes (Marge) Bevers of Appleton, Audrey (Jerry) Schmidt of Kaukauna, Mike (Darlene) Bevers of Little Chute, and Linda (Mark) Hietpas of Little Chute; eight brothers and sisters-in-law: Ruth Bevers of Little chute, Marion Hoffman of Appleton, Barb Dunn of Colorado, Mary Rose Head of Crivitz, Keith (Ione) Head of Florida, Bob (Kathy) Van Handel of Bear Creek, Don (Deb) Van Handel of Appleton, and Mike Van Handel of Appleton. Dave is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Ryan Bevers in 1995, a brother Orville Bevers, a sister Carol Bevers, and brothers-in-law Marvin Skalmusky, Harry Hoffman, Sr., and David Head.

A memorial service for Dave will be held at the funeral home chapel at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2008, followed by complete military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend their thanks to everyone at Affinity Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Dave and to his family. Your kindness will always will be remembered.
