David Ward Obituary

David Lynn Ward reached the end of his life, lived on his own terms, on August 29, 2024, at the age of 69. David was born February 18, 1955, to Jimmy Ward and Carolyn Lively Ward Varnadore.
He grew up in Big Lake, Texas and San Saba Texas, and was much loved by family and friends anywhere he found himself. He graduated from Reagan County High School in 1973. He spent much of his working career in the West Texas Oil Fields, starting as a truck driver in his family's business, to roughneck, to eventually working as a well site consultant and supervisor. Time away from the oil field was spent working in information technology, and as a ranch hand.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alton and Josephine Lively, Lynn and Mae Maliu Ward, his mother and stepfather Carolyn and Lelan Varnadore, and his father, Jimmy Ward.
He is survived by his sister, Tammy White and husband Don, brothers, Micky Varnadore, Ted Ward, and Wesley Ward, and several nieces and nephews, and stepmother, Josephine Sloan.
A private ceremony will be held to honor David's life and his passing.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba.
