David C. Williams, 80 of Calmer Community (Cleveland County) passed away Monday at his home. He was born July 4, 1944 in Cleveland County to the late, Milam and Bamma Shelby Williams. He was a retired welder for United Pacific Railway and a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.
David was a Christian, enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing, being an avid outdoorsman, working in his garden and loved telling stories of himself and his brothers playing ball as kids.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda "Sue" Moss Williams, two brothers, Shelby Williams and Gerald Williams and two sisters, Marnette White and Montez McGriff.
Survivors include his caregiver and niece, Angela Melhorn and husband David of Calmer, and many other extended family and friends.
Graveside service will be Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Friendship Cemetery near Woodlawn with Bro. Doney Blackerby officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Friday at the cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.L. Wooley, Steve Williams, James McGriff, Thomas McGriff and James Moss.
