Della Herche Obituary

Born September 25, 1961, in Seymour, she was the daughter of David Grant and Rosie (Wells) Lucas. She married Jon Herche on July 7, 2007, in North Vernon; he survives.
Della was a 1980 graduate of Jennings County High School and had worked as a regrind program manager for CEP at Martin Supply in Franklin for 20 years. She had previously worked as a DST for several years at the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville. Della enjoyed going to yard sales, attending fall festivals, camping, crafts, working puzzles, watching her husband drag race, and spending time with her family.
Surviving with her husband, Jon; are sons, Alvalee (Racheal) Ritchie of Columbus, Levi D. (Sami) Ritchie, of Columbus and Christopher (Samantha) Herche of Scottsburg; daughter, Brittany (Derek) Keener of North Vernon; parents, David (Gloria) Grant of Columbus and Rosie Lucas of Madison; brothers, David Shawn Grant of Lexington and Cory Grant of Madison; sister, Tia (Jerry Gabor) Davidson of North Vernon; and grandchildren, Coby Arnholt and Rosabella Arnholt, both of Scipio, Skylar Herche, Avereigh Tyler, Jaxon Ritchie, Jayda Ritchie, Lauren Keener and Carson Keener, all of North Vernon, Novalee Dawn Ritchie and Aligha Hill, both of Columbus, Charli Herche and Wells Herche, both of Scottsburg.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria "Tori" Sanders-Hook and grandchild, Shaylynne Hill.
A funeral service for Della will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Don Morris and John Clark officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Della to the American Cancer Society.
