Delores Anderson Obituary

Delores J. Anderson passed away peacefully at the home she shared with her son, Shawn and wife Nan, in Van, Texas, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Prior to her move to Texas, she lived in Hamilton, MO., for 8 years. She was born September 26, 1937, to parents Jay and Margaret Beach, in Kansas City, MO.
After moving to California, she became a computer operator for Garrett AiResearch and was recognized for her contribution to the Apollo Space program. While at Garrett, she was active in the Christmas programs for employees and children as a clown and she was a member of the bowling team.
Delores was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hamilton, MO. She was active in the Altar Society. Her hobbies included bowling, BINGO, taking and displaying photos of her family, watching her Pittsburg Steelers and Angels baseball. She also enjoyed people watching while "porch sitting" with her sister Betty Jo. She was an avid reader of James Patterson and her Bible. Delores was a giver, giving of herself unselfishly to her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren have fond memories of playing Monopoly, with HER rules. She loved baking sugar free chocolate cakes for anyone that helped her and always baked for the Hamilton Police Department. Early memories were made baking with her daughters after Thanksgiving.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Paul, and her siblings Gerald, Frances, Rita and Betty Jo.
She is survived by her son, Shawn (Nan) Carlson and daughters, Janice (Phil) Trujillo and Christine (Osberto) Geno, and brother, Mike (Nancy) Beach. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton, MO. Rosary will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, October, 11, 2024, with the Mass to begin at 1:30 p.m.
Inurnment will follow the service at the Highland Cemetery,. Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charities Tunnel to Towers and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
