Deloris "Dee" Hill, 89 of Ankeny formerly of Stanhope died Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Rock Creek Senior Living in Ankeny. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Deloris Fae Crosby, daughter of James and Hazel Beadle Crosby, was born March 27, 1935 in Martin County, Minnesota. She graduated from Woolstock High School. On February 28, 1954, Deloris was united in marriage to Darwin Wayne Hill in Webster City. She worked for the US Postal Service at Stratford and Webster City until her retirement, as well as the family farm.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Melinda) Hill of Nevada, Craig (Patty) Hill of Webster City, and DeAnn (Don) Pelz of Ankeny; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Lanny (Joyce) Hill.
Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin in 2017; her parents, James and Hazel; twin sister, Doris Bauman; brother, Robert Crosby and grandson, Chad Hill.
She was a past member of Stanhope Parish. Dee enjoyed gardening, wintering in Arizona, cooking for her family and going camping and fishing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Stanhope Parish.
