Dempsey Beckett Obituary
He was born on February 19, 1938 to the late Claire and Moda Beckett.
Dempsey graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1956. He worked for Carolina Supermarket and then served with the U.S. Army. After his military service he worked as a truck driver for DuPont and ETI for 36 years.
He married Elizabeth (Judy) Mills on April 20, 1974, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gertrude and Jo Ann, and brothers Raymond, Edward, Mason, Wesley and Jimmy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Judy; son Dempsey Lee; brother William (Bill); nieces, nephews and other family members.
Special thanks to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Raleigh General Hospital and Dr. E.J. Salon and Pandy.
There will be no funeral service.
