It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dolores J. Chavez “Lola”, 68, of` Albuquerque, NM, who passed away on October 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 23, 1956 to Gregorio Ruiz, and Antonia Chavez. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers Henry, Santiago, Jerry, Louie, and her loving life partner Rudy Archuleta.
Dolores is survived by her two children Lisa Chavez, and Carlos Chavez (wife Amanda Chavez) as well as her six grandchildren, Anthony Martinez, Dominique Martinez, Victoria Martinez, Ricky Chavez, Tomas Chavez, Carly Chavez, and three great grandchildren, Ava Lucero, Lorenzo Martinez, and Malaia Martinez. She is also survived by her sister Elena Romero, and brothers Pedro Chavez (wife Diane Chavez), and Antonio Chavez (wife Susie Chavez).
Dolores was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved the outdoors, dancing, listening to New Mexican music, taking pictures, and celebrating life. Her most cherished memories were made with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved enjoying family dinners, and eating delicious homemade meals with all of her loved ones.
Dolores will be laid to rest and we will have a celebration of her life on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at 11:00am. The burial and celebration will take place in Belen, NM at La Puerta Natural Burial Grounds. This is a very natural setting, boots and jeans are welcome as she loved to wear boots and jean’s herself.
