Donald Andreson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home on Nov. 1, 2024.
TUFTONBORO ---- Donald Carl Andreson stepped into eternity on Tuesday, September 30, 2024, in Tuftonboro, NH.
He was born on February 25, 1946 to Lawrence and Dagmar Andreson in Somerville, MA, where his father had a medical practice. They later moved to Lexington where Don grew up. Don graduated from Princeton University, then attended USC Graduate School of Cinematography where he met his lifetime love Nancy Andreson. He received a Master of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Seminary.
Don's life was marked by an unwavering commitment to loving God and people. He was known as a man of prayer. Don began Vineyard Community Church in Kingston, MA in 1986. He was the senior pastor, co-pastoring with Nancy. Don served his church family tirelessly and with great optimism. He inspired it in others. He always saw challenges as a good test of our own character and the faithfulness of God. He served on the National Vineyard Leadership team for over 25 years, helping to encourage pastors of other Vineyard churches both in New England and in Spain. Don was part of a mission's partnership that worked with leaders in Spain to plant Vineyard churches. Spain became his second home. He and his wife led many Prayer Ministry Trips there, taking hundreds of people to pray in more than 130 cities in Spain and Portugal.
Don's favorite pastimes included watching football, baseball, playing golf, exploring new places, eating great food, and reading. On vacation he would often polish off 30 books as he sat by an ocean or lake. His love for learning was insatiable... Most everything found its way into a sermon at some point. He was a gifted teacher and writer, with 3 published works. All were translated into Spanish.
He was a devoted and much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His grandchildren affectionally referred to him as Gandolph the Great! He inspired much laughter.
Don is survived by his sister and brother, Jean and James Andreson, by his wife of 56 years, Nancy, his children, Seth and Leavitt Andreson, Gabriel and Sonia Andreson, Jesse Andreson and Tamar and Mike Allen. At the time of his passing, he had 16 grandchildren (he always claimed the spouses as his own) and 3 great-grandchildren.
His legacy of love, kindness, wisdom, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
There is a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM at New Hope Chapel (at the former Sacred Heart High School) 399 Bishops Hwy, Kingston, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Iberia Partnership to be used on developing leaders in Spain. Donations can be sent to Vineyard Community Church - 8 Hilltop Avenue, Kingston, MA 02364.

Dear Nancy, We think of you & Don with so much fondness! We will always remember our trip to Spain with you, praying in many of the cities. Don was so humble, loving & caring - a true disciple of Jesus, & an exemplary leader. We haven't seen you guys in awhile but as part of the Vineyard family, we will miss him! Love you, praying for you as you have said good-bye for now.

We remember early Boston area Maynard Fellowship were so many great friends I remember and working with Don making a sign for Clearlight Productions. That company exhibited leading edge technology in its day.
And with the intent of spreading the Gospel.Don had so much vision and leadership. Even the logo was insightful and I still remember the meaning.

What a blessing to be under the teaching and direction of Don. So many moments where Don´s spirit would instill a desire in your own spirit to grow closer to the One who created us. So grateful I had the privilege of working and worshipping along side you Don. Lois Kernan

I first met Don back in 1989, and every Wednesday morning, we would meet at his church, go through a side door and up some stairs, into a little room, where Bob, Don, Rich, myself and a few other pastors would pray for revival on the southshore from 7-8am, and then go out for breakfast.
