Madell Edwards Bunch, age 87, of Tellico Plains, gained her angel wings on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Arlice Boring; second husband, James Howard Bunch, parents, Jim and Pearl Edwards; grandson, James Holt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley (Mildred) Edwards, Roy Lee (Emma Lou) Edwards, Dale (Willa Dean) Edwards, Clifford Edwards, and Estel Edwards; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Florence (Robert) Clarke, Mildred (Hugh) Rodgers, and Barbara Love.

Madell was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. In her younger years she spent her time teaching children at Calthorpe and Rural Vale Elementary Schools. She later went on to work for the state, where she eventually retired from The Department of Human Services. Madell loved her family and friends and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sonya (Bobby) Holt, Novella (Gerald) Williams, and Fretta Bunch; sons and daughters-in-law, James (Judy) Bunch, Jerry (Ada Mae) Bunch, and Farron (Brenda) Bunch; sister, Priscilla Cooper; brother-in-law, Donald Love; grandson and spouse, Robby (Whitney) Holt; great- grandchildren, Trevor, Tressia, and Tanner Standridge; many nieces and nephews, special friends, David Jenkins, Pansy Prock, Reggie Elliot, and Edna Wilburn. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Sweetwater Hospital, and CenterWell Home Health.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. B.J. Wall officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025 and proceed to Shady Grove Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m., committal service. Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
