Donald Cox, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 68, surrounded by his loving family.
Donald shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Theresa, who was his partner in life and love. Together, they built a family rooted in loyalty, warmth, and countless treasured memories.
Born into a large and loving family as one of nine siblings and three blended siblings, Donald's upbringing instilled in him a strong sense of family and a deep appreciation for life. These values became the foundation of his character and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.
Donald was the proud father of three sons who were his greatest source of pride and joy. As a devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren, he found immense happiness in their laughter and love, cherishing every moment spent with them.
A man of many passions, Donald had a lifelong love for the outdoors, especially hunting, and delighted in sharing his favorite stories with family and friends. An avid sports enthusiast, he never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams and held a deep appreciation for the thrill of racing.
Donald survives through his Mother (Nancy Stone), wife Theresa Cox, his three sons (Jason and wife Blair Cox; Justin Cox; Cassidy and wife Erika Cox), seven grandchildren (Ryann, Kennadi, Aislinn, Taylor, Colton, Remington, Amelia, Landan, and Leland), his siblings (David Cox, Gary Cox, Johnnie Cox, Tammy Cox, Kathryn Cox, Elizabeth Cox, Richard Cox, Raymond Cox), blended siblings Theresa Stone; LuDonna Stone, and 28 nieces and nephews.
He is now reunited with those who passed before him, and his warm spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him. Preceded in death by his father Arthur Cox; blended father Luther Stone; blended sibling Bill Stone; and his dogs Abby and Sagie Baby.
A celebration of Donald's life will take place on January 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Hope Community Church, located at 1831 E. 21st St., Andover, KS 67002.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations via Donate Here Wichita Warriors to support the creation of an annual soccer tournament, through the Wichita Warriors FC organization, honoring Donald's memory for years to come.
May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts as his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him! To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Donald, please visit our Tree Store.
