On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Donald W. Wallen, 89, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was husband to Brenda J. (Lackey) Wallen for 45 years. The eldest of 16 children, Don was born on July 16, 1936, in Fleming County, KY, to the late Kemp W. and Zella F. (Mullins) Wallen. He graduated from Biglerville High School in Biglerville, PA, then received an Associate's degree in Accounting from Thompson Business School. Don served in the US Army military police.

Don moved to Florida for several years where he worked as a carpentry apprentice to become a Journeyman. After moving back to Pennsylvania, he worked for the Geiple Furniture Store and the Geiple Funeral Home. He then continued his carpentry journey and worked for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station as a bull steward until he retired.

He was Past President of the Shrewsbury Lions Club; Past Master of the Shrewsbury Masonic Lodge #423, and also the Past Commander of the Knights Templar of York; Past Grand Tall Cedar; Past Grand Royal Patron of the Order of Amaranth State of Pennsylvania; member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, along with other Masonic affiliated organizations; and member of Freedom Community Church in Shrewsbury.

In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, listening to music, playing the banjo, fishing, hunting, hanging out in his garage tinkering, and spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his wife Brenda; three children, Kim Wallen and wife Kathy, Todd Wallen and wife Doreen, and Lois Hollingshead and husband Jim; one daughter-in-law Kim Kim Chronister; twelve siblings; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kevin Wallen; one grandchild and three siblings.

Public viewings will be held on Wednesday, October 22, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, and on Thursday, October 23, from 10:00am until a funeral service begins at 11:00am at Freedom Community Church, 205 S. Main St., Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to Freedom Community Church, 161 S. Main St., Shrewsbury, PA 17361 or Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
