Donna "Sue" Tunny, 83, of Osgood, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. She was born on July 19, 1941, in Aurora, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Yorn) Brooks.
At the age of seven, Sue’s family moved to Osgood, where she began second grade. She fondly remembered her teacher, Annabelle Dunbar, welcoming her to school. Her father worked for the railroad, and her mother was employed at the Ben Franklin store.
In 1956, while riding in a yellow ‘55 Chevrolet, Sue’s life changed forever when she met Dale Tunny. The two were united in marriage on March 1, 1960, at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. Together, they were blessed with four children: Kevin, Gary, Robert, and Kim.
Sue was a proud graduate of Osgood High School, Class of 1959. She dedicated many years as a school bus driver for the Jac-Cen-Del School Corporation, forming lasting connections with students and the community. She also enjoyed volunteering at the local free store and food pantry, always willing to help those in need. Sue’s faith was a guiding force in her life, and her greatest joy was her family.
After Dale’s passing in 2012, Sue remained in their home on North Maple until moving to Manderley Health Care a few years ago. There, she formed new friendships and became a familiar, beloved presence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; her brother, Richard; and her sister, Barbara.
Sue is survived by her four children: Kevin Tunny (Naomi) of Holton, Gary Tunny (Rhonda) of Napoleon, Robert Tunny (Margaret) of Columbus, and Kim King (Randy) of Versailles. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, nad two great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by sister, Beverly Ann Jackson (Robert), as well as numerous in-laws, including Jim Tunny, Hubert Tunny (Brenda), Joe Tunny (Rose), Paul Tunny (Melissa), Amelia Newhart (Don), and Betty Jett.
