Doris Hutchison Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home on Sep. 26, 2024.
Doris Hutchison, better known as "Betty" to friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024. Betty was a month shy of her 80th birthday on October 1, 2024.
Betty lived in Morrisville, PA for many years and formerly lived in Hamilton, NJ.
Betty loved celebrating holidays and decorating in anticipation of them. She especially enjoyed the cooler months of the year and couldn't wait for big snow falls as they reminded her of her childhood and fun she had when she grew up in Canada.
Betty loved her family members and spent much time with them in her home, and theirs, for many dinners, birthday parties, and especially her grandchildren's many celebrations. She enjoyed attending their church pageants, choirs, and communion celebrations. Betty enjoyed gardening and especially loved growing roses. Coming from a large family, she enjoyed cooking meals and serving with joy to her loved ones. She was energetic, warm and inviting to anyone who came to her home. She was generous and caring to others. She loved walking the boardwalk down at Seaside in the cooler evenings and trips to Stone Harbor, Avalon, and Cape May...and car rides that led to country roads and new places. Attending her granddaughter's and new son-in-law's wedding, and seeing all of their friends and family, brought her so much joy. And her family was so blessed to have that special memory of her attendance.
She will be remembered for her sense of calmness, enjoying a simple life, and a fun spirit. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
Betty was predeceased in death by her husband, Joe, her parents, George and Blanche, and her brothers - Ray, Gerald, and Lyndon. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Geoff, her grandchildren - Shea (Tyler), Gavin, and great- granddaughter, Aria; three sisters - Joan (Roland), Edith, and Joy (John); ex-husband, Robert (Joan), and longtime companion, Bill, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private prayer service will be held in her memory and celebration of her life.
Family services entrusted under the care of Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, Langhorne.
