Dorothy Lee Caswell, 93, of Kansas City, formerly of Marceline, Missouri, passed away on September 2, 2024, at Trust Well Living in Raytown, MO. She was born in Marceline, Missouri, on February 8, 1931, to Harrison and Missouri (Boggs) Humburd. She was united in marriage to Vascoe Caswell, and they had five children together: Mary Pearlene Wyatt, Cheryle Steward, Don Caswell, Charles Caswell, and Carol Williams.
Dorothy Lee worked as a cook at Walt Disney Elementary School for several years before retiring and moving to Kansas City, Missouri. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Lee is survived by her children: Mary Pearlene Wyatt of Kansas City, MO; Cheryle and her husband Mike Steward of Raymore; and Don Caswell and his wife Laura of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Midgyett, Steve (Lisa) Midgyett, Cassy Midgyett, Nolan Caswell, Chris Scroggins, Thei (Kierra) Annett, Michael (Gail) Walters; DonAsia (Tristan) Grider; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and one sister Shirlene Wiston of Urbana IL, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vascoe, one son, Charles Caswell; one daughter, Carol Williams; and seven siblings.
Funeral services will be held at the Canaan Worship Center, located at 5333 E Bannister Rd, Kansas City, MO, on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Marceline, MO, at 3:30 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline Missouri.
