Dorothy Jean Hampton, completed her earthly journey on September 30, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on September 9, 1941, in Sterling, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully in
Marlow, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and inspiration.Rosary service will be held Monday October 7,2024 At 6pm at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marlow. Funeral Mass will Tuesday October 8, 2024 At 11 am. Under the Direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral home. Dorothy, affectionately known as Dorothy to her friends and family, was the cherished daughter of John and Dorothy Dewolf Conway. She grew up in a bustling household with her four brothers, Bernard, Richard, and Jimmy, and three sisters, Sis, Lucy, and Judy. Her childhood was filled with laughter and the close-knit bonds of family, which she carried into her own life as a wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her brother Johnny Conway, whose memory she held dear In her youth, Dorothy attended Our Lady of Perpetual help she attended Marlow High School,11 grade. Dorothy Graduated From St Marys Catholic School In Lawton Oklahoma, where she not only excelled academically but also cultivated a heart for service and community. Her education laid the foundation for a career that would span nearly four decades. Dorothy worked as a dedicated dental assistant at Hampton Dental Office, where her gentle touch and warm smile made her a favorite among patients and colleagues alike.Dorothy's love story began with her beloved husband, Dr. Terrence Hampton, with whom she built a life filled with adventure and mutual respect. Together, they raised two sons, Richard and Michael Gatlin, instilling in them the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion.Richard Gatlin and Michael Gatlin and his wife Julie, along with Dorothy's grandchildren Christopher, Benjamin, Chelsee, Tanner, and great-grandchildren Lilly, Raelyn, Loren, Braden, Dakota, Brode, Lem, and Madalyn, were the light of her life. She reveled in their accomplishments and was a constant source of encouragement and support.Beyond her family, Dorothy was an active member of the Eastern Star Lodge 103, Garden Society and the Altar Society of the Immaculate Conception Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and celebrations. Dorothy's interests were as varied as they were passionate. She was an avid traveler, exploring new places with a sense of wonder and excitement. Fishing trips were not just about the catch but about the joy of being in nature and the stories that would be told for years to come. Playing cards was another favorite pastime, where her competitive spirit and infectious laughter made every game memorable.
Dorothy's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of the human spirit. She approached every day with a zest for life that was contagious, inspiring those around her to live fully and love deeply. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
