Dorothy Morgan Obituary
On Sunday morning, October 12, 2025, Dorothy Marie Morgan, 87 of Ore City, went to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Dottie was born November 6, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Leon and Vera Fletcher. She married the love of her life, Waylon Stewart Morgan, on February 22, 1958, who preceded her in death in 2016.
Dottie was a dedicated and loving mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grammy.
Dottie graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1957. She was an active member of Ore City Methodist Church and involved in the Ore City Food Bank. She retired from Security State Bank.
Dottie leaves behind sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Marsha Morgan of Fort Worth, John Morgan of Bossier City, LA, Sherry Morgan of Ore City; grandchildren, Josh Morgan and wife Nicki of Benbrook, Holly Throckmorton of Ore City, Jamie Farmer and husband Kenneth of New Braunfels, Sean Morgan and wife Valeria of Ore City, Megan Morgan of Bossier City, LA and Courtney Coffman of Houston; great grandchildren, Callie Morgan, Kellan Morgan, Case Morgan, Kinsley Farmer, Rowan Farmer, Levi Morgan, Luke Morgan Cooper Martinez and Cameron Martinez; sister, Billye Lee and husband Rip; 3 half-sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and friends .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Waylon Morgan; son, Stewart Morgan and sister, Louann Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm at Croley Funeral in Diana. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10 am at First Methodist Church Ore City.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her honor to the OCMA Food Pantry. Make check payable to OCMA Food Pantry and in the memo please write Memory Dottie Morgan and mail to Texas Heritage Bank, P.O Box 1048, Ore City, Texas 75683.
