Dorothy Sue Robertson, age 86 of Huntland, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was born on October 26, 1938, in Rome, Georgia, to the late Lois Doris Lanham Easterwood and Clarence "Pete" Easterwood. She married Reese Wayne Robertson of Huntland, Tennessee when she was fifteen years old. Reese said, "Marry her young and raise her like you want her." It worked. Sue made a house into a home as well as working as a secretary at Huntland School, Johnson Sawmill, Heath Oil, Harton Hospital, and Huntland City Hall, where she was also appointed City Judge. Sue retired from U.S. Army Missile Command Redstone Arsenal. She enjoyed working with Reese in gardening as well as helping to build a house, even learning to finish sheet rock. Sue's hobby was painting, and she could spend hours painting beautiful pictures. She loved her family and these last few months had enjoyed painting with her great-grandchildren. Sue was a devoted Christian and a member of Donaldson Grove Baptist Church, where before her health issues she taught a children's Sunday School Class as well as Vacation Bible School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reese Robertson; brother, Charles Easterwood; and sister, Mary Alice Sawyer. Sue is survived by her son, Michael Robertson and wife Patricia of Huntland; daughters, Lois Lynne Richardson and husband Virgil of Lincoln County, and Susan Carol Bragg and husband Johnny of Cowan; grandchildren, Jessie Schwer, Colton Richardson, April Kendzierski, Reese Bragg, Kim Robertson, Julie Ennies, and Daniel Robertson; great-grandchildren, Hobbes, Emmalyn, Sealie, Kaylyn, Owen, Stetson, Sterling, Ellisyn and Audrey. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Colton Richardson, Daniel Robertson, Reese Bragg, Charles Kendzierski, Paul Schwer, and Travis Ennies serving as pallbearers. Special thanks to her caregivers who helped to keep her in her home: Sara Gilliam, Kathryn Reed, Virginia Atkins, Donna Ray, and her hospice nurses. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
