Melinda Poe Ford, 63, passed away from this life on Monday, August 11, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo with her family at her side. Melinda was born on October 13, 1961, in Jackson to Glenn and Linda Livingston Poe. She graduated from Amory High School and attended Belhaven College in Jackson, earning a bachelor’s degree in finance. On September 28, 1996, she married the love of her life, Richard Ford and made her home in Smithville. Prior to her retirement, she worked many years as an assistant in the Monroe County Circuit Clerk’s office. Her hobbies included reading and cooking, especially canning vegetables. In addition, she loved the outdoors and being on the farm. A member of First Presbyterian Church in Amory, she served as treasurer for many years.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Burks officiating. Burial will follow in Young Memorial Gardens in Smithville.

In addition to her husband of 28 years, Richard Ford, she is survived by her mother, Linda Poe; mother-in-law, Mary Charles Ford; two sisters, Amy Poe Bowman (Michael) and Susan Poe Kennedy (Gregg); brother-in-law, Ramie Ford (Teri); sister-in-law, Allison Ford-Wade (Chip); nieces and nephews, Chellie Bowman, Thomas Kennedy (Bonny), Kara Burks (Colby), Forrest-Anne Bowman, Ben Kennedy (Layla), Molly Concannon (Sean), Mary Claire, Ford Wade, and Gibbs Wade; great nieces and nephews, Chase Burks, Kalor Burks, Kip Burks, Cullum Kennedy, Ada Kennedy, Tripp Kennedy, Annie Kennedy, Millie Kennedy, and Maggie Kennedy.

Preceding her in death are her father, Glenn Poe and her father-in-law, Billy Ford.

Pallbearers will be Michael Bowman, Gregg Kennedy, Thomas Kennedy, Ben Kennedy, Ford Wade, and Gibbs Wade.

Visitation will be from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home Friday at the funeral home.
