Edilberto Alberto Obituary

Edilberto Alberto, affectionately known as Eddie or Elvis, was born on February 24, 1936, in the Philippines to Benicio Alberto and Olympia de los Reyes. He passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and music. Eddie was a gifted singer and dancer who always had a smile on his face. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teodora, lovingly known as Doris, and his children : Dayong, Maria, Luisito, and Orlando, as well as his brother, Leonardo Alberto. In 1987, his younger sister, Adela, sponsored the family's immigration to the United States, where Eddie initially worked in electronics before returning to his true passion as a plumber and handyman at Quadrangle until his retirement. Known for his vibrant spirit, Eddie loved singing karaoke at American Legions and enjoyed trips to the casino. Even as his health declined at the age of 86, he never complained and remained steadfast in his positive outlook on life. Eddie's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted father and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his five children: Evangeline (Rogelio) residing in the Philippines, and Rudy (Joy), Evelyn, Moises, and Albert, all in Salinas, California. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his sister, Adela. A viewing will take place on September 19, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by a Rosary Vigil from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Healey Mortuary, 404 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, CA 93905. The funeral service will be held on September 20, 2024, at 10:00 am at Madonna del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Drive, Salinas, CA 93906. A celebration of Eddie's life and reception to follow.
